Winter Harbor in Marblehead, Massachusetts

The Basics

Marblehead Harbor is located in Marblehead, Massachusetts which is 17 miles northeast of Boston and is considered the birthplace of the United States Navy. The harbor is home to four prominent yacht clubs and has over 2,000 moorings.  There are 14.2 miles of tidal coastline in Marblehead harbor.

The Beauty

The harbor in winter is endlessly photographable. Empty except for the sky-blue mooring balls splashed across the expanse of sea, the harbor waits, patient and serene, for the next yachting and racing season. During the winter it is a contemplative and beautiful 'backyard' to many a Marblehead resident, or "Header."
